Class 6 - The Church at Thyatira
During the early years of our marriage, we bought our clothes, our TVs, our appliances, our tools, got our cars serviced and our teeth taken care by Sears Roebuck stores. Sears was the largest retail store in America.
It was hard to believe that Sears would ever go away.
Yet, today, there are no significant Sears stores left.
What happened? They failed to look closely within their organization for its weaknesses within.
They forgot what made them great and did not look ahead to coming e-commerce.
They could have been the Amazon of their day, instead they faded away.
In the fourth letter to the churches, the letter to Thyatira, we see a similar decline, only spiritual, of a church because they ignored the problems within.
